When asked to write something for my new column, I thought and thought, “What could I write about for my first article”? How about some firsts I’ve been involved with? During my forty-nine years in boat racing there has to be a couple of newsworthy things. I recently went to Wheatland and saw how much racing has changed since I stopped in 1993. As we were driving back to North Carolina, I had plenty of time to think and came up with three events that I was proud to be a part of, and hope you like them We will take them each one at a time.
